"At
the festival Printemps Français 2013, the four musicians of French indie rock
band Gran Kino shared the stage with Sarasvati, one of the leading lights of
Indonesia’s independent scene. From this first meeting grew the seeds of an
idea for future collaboration. The fruit of their work together came this year
with the reworking of an epic of the Sundanese tradition, Bujangga Manik.
Through these 600 year old poems, filled with questions on the nature of
happiness, the two bands draw us into a poetic journey in which literary and
musical influences are fused."
