Exhibition at Impact8 Printmaking Festival Scotland 28th Aug- 1st Sept 2013
Title: Hill
Format (heightxwidthxdepth): 350x200x200cm
Year: 2012
Technique: screenprinted
videostills/fiberart
My research had a lot to do with transparency and grain. The ‘film-strips’ are screenprinted on thin JiangSu silk fabric which hang free from the ceiling in an arranged group. Due to the fabrics’ transparency the images can be seen from both sides. The ink in combination with the silk builds up its own grain.
I try to translate a video sequence into print,
and make a multi-interpretable image where the eye can wonder in all
directions, and zoom in and out in a sort of reversed or ‘slow’ filmmaking.

Critical Mass Portfolio at SGCI Conference Milwaukee
"We get ink on our hands and under our nails. We draw, scratch and etch. We work our images over time, opening ourselves to how making informs our thinking and how thinking informs our making. Our work inspires us, speaks to us and transforms us as we inspire, speak to and transform our work. Working with materials, tools, machines and emerging technologies, we forge and reinvent the visual language of printmaking."
A beautiful quote from the SGCI Conference in Milwaukee 20-23 march 2013, where my embossment is part of the Critical Mass portfolio organized by Nathaniel Stern, Professor of Art and Design

My film Oktober is part of the exhibition at Arti et Amicitiae
Opening friday 11 January 19.00-22.00
A dreamlike encounter in a field between a horse and a
dancer.
The film is about the inclusion of other, their beside,
inside, vibration, resonance and the sense of past and of future. Respecting
the stillness in a moment of eternity. There is something from beyond that
seems to be present.
The soundtrack is based on a famous tune from the 16th
and 17th century called La Folia of which there have been many
versions composed. It’s origin is probably Portugese and may have come from
trance-like dance in which the participants become possessed and as the name
suggests have gone ‘out of there minds’.
Performed by Andy Moor on guitar and Yannis Kyriakides on
computer.
The sound editing is based on the score mixed with natural
sounds of horses grassing, wind and the sound of dry grass.
